What is Semana Santa in Málaga like?
Málaga's processions are known for their enormous thrones, or tronos, carried by hundreds of bearers, and for their mix of solemnity and celebration. The Legion's procession on Holy Thursday, with its Cristo de la Buena Muerte, is one of the most famous moments.
How do you travel in Málaga during Holy Week?
The historic centre is closed to traffic for much of the week, and the crowds are huge. Your chauffeur will drop you at the edge of the centre and meet you there later. Many visitors stay on the Costa del Sol and travel into Málaga each evening.
