The Feast of St Blaise, Festa Sv. Vlaha, begins on 2 February, Candlemas, with the release of white doves and the raising of the saint's flag, and reaches its peak on 3 February with a solemn mass and procession.
What is the Feast of St Blaise?
St Blaise has been Dubrovnik's protector for more than a thousand years. The feast, listed by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage, brings together locals in traditional costume, flag bearers from the surrounding villages and the city's bishops for a procession through the Old Town carrying the saint's relics.
How do you visit by chauffeur?
The Old Town is pedestrian and very busy on 3 February. Your chauffeur will drop you at the Pile Gate and collect you after the procession. Winter is quiet in Dubrovnik, so the feast is a chance to see the city as locals do.
